The glass in this piece is fused with sand from Dewees Island in South Carolina, which is the setting for The Islanders book series. The Islanders is a beautiful story of friendship, loss, and the healing power of nature. This middle grade book series is riveting-our kids couldn’t put it down! When I had the chance to work with the authors of the book on a special jewelry line I jumped at the oppurtunity.
